Source: U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, Pacific Islands Office.August, 2017: Office of Planning staff merged and dissolved individual species layers into one consolidated layer for use in determining whether a location is within or outside of a critical habitat area, regardless of species. Consolidated layer was updated to include Oahu panic grass layer.February, 2022: Statewide GIS Program staff received additional critical habitat data from USFWS (2018 Big Island 3 Plants layer) and incorporated the layer into the statewide consolidated critical habitat layer.April 2024: Statewide GIS Program staff received additional critical habitat data from USFWS (2024 Big Island 12 Species layer) and incorporated the layer into the statewide consolidated critical habitat layer.
